Billiard & Snooker Club Management Software with Automatic Light Control

Run every billiard and snooker table on exact time. The table light switches on when the game starts and off when it ends, minutes are billed to the second, and café orders join the same bill — so the customer pays one clear total and nothing walks out unbilled.

🇦🇪 UAE & GCC🌐 Arabic Ready🧾 VAT Ready🏢 Multi-Branch
Four billiard tables shown from above: two running with their lights on and timers counting, one available with its light off, and one prepaid table showing the minutes remaining.

The problems this solves

Table time written on paper or a phone timer, then argued over at the counter.
Lights burning over empty tables all evening, and play continuing after the customer has paid.
Café orders billed separately from table time, so the totals never reconcile at close.
Prepaid hours and member packages tracked in a notebook, quietly leaking revenue.
No reliable answer to which tables actually earn, on which nights, under which staff.

How automatic billiard table light control works

The automation is a straight chain, and every step is recorded so the bill can be defended: GAME STARTS → LIGHT ON → TIMER RUNS → GAME ENDS → LIGHT OFF.

When a cashier starts a session — or a customer starts one from the table QR code and it is approved — 8BallPOS writes a device command and the light over that table closes its relay coil. The timer runs against your configured rate. When the session is stopped, or a fixed-time booking reaches its last minute, the session settles and the light command is reversed.

Hardware is driven by Modbus RTU relay boards on a serial or USB-RS485 line from a small agent inside the venue, so the server does not need to sit on the same network as the electrical panel. Commands that are never claimed expire rather than firing late, so a controller that comes back online hours later cannot switch a light over a table that is already in use.

  • Per-table mapping of relay slave and coil address
  • Session start, stop, pause and auto-stop all drive the same command queue
  • Every switch attempt is acknowledged and logged for audit
  • Unclaimed commands expire so stale switching cannot happen

Snooker club and pool lounge operations

Snooker software needs the same spine as billiard POS — accurate frames and time, member pricing and a café that bills into the same ticket — so both run on one system rather than two. Tables can be priced individually or as a group, put into maintenance so they cannot be booked, or reserved ahead. Sessions can be transferred between tables mid-game when a customer moves, carrying the time and any food already ordered with them.

For lounges that also serve food, orders route automatically to the right preparation station — kitchen, bar, shisha or dessert — each with its own printed ticket, so the café side keeps working the way it already does.

Café, shisha and food billing on the same table

The most common leak in a billiard club is the café. When food is rung up on a separate till, the table bill and the food bill are reconciled by hand at closing time, and the difference is written off. In 8BallPOS the order is attached to the session on the table, so it appears on the running bill immediately and settles once.

Orders can be taken by a waiter at the table, or by the customer from the table QR code with staff approval, and each line can be tagged to the guest who ordered it so the bill splits cleanly at the end.

Why operators choose it

  • Disputed bills end: the exact start, stop and paused minutes are printed on the receipt.
  • Lights and power stop running over empty tables, which shows up on the electricity bill.
  • One invoice for game time and café orders, so the cash drawer reconciles at close.
  • Prepaid hours deduct automatically instead of being tracked on trust.
  • The owner sees live occupancy and revenue per table from anywhere, across branches.
A real 8BallPOS bill: billiard table time and the food ordered at that table on one invoice, with tax, payments and a per-player split.
Real screen: table time and café orders settling as one bill.

Table light control wiring

A relay board inside the venue drives each table's light circuit. The agent polls 8BallPOS for pending commands over an outbound connection, so no inbound ports need to be opened on the venue network.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does 8BallPOS control the billiard table lights automatically?

Yes. The light is switched on when the session starts and off when it stops, including fixed-time sessions that stop themselves. Switching is done with Modbus RTU relay hardware installed at the venue, and every command is acknowledged and logged.

Can it run snooker tables as well as pool and billiards?

Yes. Tables are configured individually with their own number, name and rate, so snooker, English pool and American pool tables can run side by side on different pricing in the same club.

How is game time billed?

To the minute, from the configured hourly rate, with paused time excluded. You can run open time, fixed bookings, prepaid sessions, happy-hour rates, member rates and hour packages, and choose how overtime behaves when prepaid time runs out.

Can café and shisha orders go on the table bill?

Yes. Anything ordered against the table joins the running session and settles on one invoice with the game time, and each line can be assigned to a specific player for split bills.

Do we need a computer at every table?

No. Staff run the floor from one POS screen showing every table's live state. Customers can optionally scan a QR code at the table to see their bill, request a session or order food.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on the number of tables, whether light-control hardware is included, and whether you need café POS, self-service or multiple branches. Tell us what you run and we will put a tailored quotation together.
